OUR MISSION...Foster the sport of lacrosse in a safe, fun, enthusiastic, and competitive environment to all interested boys grades 3-12 in the footprint serving Sammamish and Interlake High Schools.
Coaches will endeavor to be fair, firm and consistent.
Coaches will promote a positive attitude, stress teamwork and respect with each and every athlete, and lead by example.
Coaches will communicate clearly the goals of the program, team, and contest as it relates to the team as a whole and players as individuals.
Coaches will listen to their players concerns and endeavor to accommodate those concerns as they are able.
Coaches will endeavor to develop the skills and knowledge of each athlete in order to allow him the opportunity to compete and excel as a member of the team.
Coaches will strictly adhere to the rules, policies, and procedures of GELL or other league or tournament authority, as applicable.
Coaches will not engage in inappropriate conduct of any sort, or verbal abuse towards any player, parent, or referee. Coaches represent Sammamish Interlake Lacrosse and are expected to be models of good behavior for the players in the program.
The Board of Directors, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to place on probation, suspend, or terminate any coach who fails to comply with this Code of Conduct.
Parents / Guardians
Parents will comply with this Code of Conduct and all rules established by GELL and the WHSBLA.
Parents should set the right example for players by always showing good sportsmanship.
Parents will not argue with a coach, referee or official at any event.
Use of profanity, drugs, alcohol or tobacco during any event is prohibited.
Any parent or spectator who crosses the field barriers during a game risks their player being disqualified from the game, SILC and/or GELL. Parents and spectators are to be situated on the opposite side of the field from the player’s box (where applicable).
Parents who incur an un-sportsmanlike behavior penalty put their player at risk of disqualification or from further participation.
Understand that your player will be given every opportunity to participate; however, the safety of our athletes is our #1 concern.
The Board of Directors, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to take the following actions against any parent(s) who fails to comply with this Code of Conduct including but not limited to expulsion or suspension from SILC and/or denial of access to practices/games.
Players
Players will place team and teammates ahead of self.
Players acknowledge that the primary duty of the coaches is to facilitate the safe play of the game and the development of the team in the play of lacrosse.
Players will endeavor to attend all practices, games, meetings and any other team function and arrive on time. Prior notice to the coach is required for any late arrival or absence.
Players will at all times demonstrate good sportsmanship and show respect towards their coaches, teammates, opponents, and referees. Fighting, dangerous play, or actions that endanger or disrespect others will not be tolerated.
Players agree to follow the game, league, and tournament rules as established by GELL or other game authority, as applicable.
Players will stay in the team practice area during practice and within the team areas of the sidelines during games.
Use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco during any event is prohibited.
The Board of Directors reserves the right to suspend from team activity or expel from the program any player who fails to comply with this Code of Conduct.
All
Unbecoming conduct, including abusive language and/ or gestures, hitting, racial, sexual or religious insensitive remarks, use of drugs or alcohol, damage to property or belongings, or any other conduct that reflects poorly on the club or lacrosse in general is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This rule applies to all players, parents, coaches, siblings and guests at all times when in or around games or practices as a member of SILC.
During away games or tournaments, you represent Sammamish Interlake Lacrosse. Unbecoming conduct, including the examples described above, will not be tolerated on or off the field. This rule applies in full force for away games or tournaments.
ANY SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION BASED ON VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL NOT BE ACCOMPANIED BY A REGISTRATION REFUND, IN WHOLE OR PART.
